“I’m for giving them the option to have a data center and let them decide no property taxes with the data center, or don’t have one.” Rick Jackson said while pitching his approach to Georgia’s growing data center industry. The proposal comes as Georgia communities push back on the industry over its enormous electricity demands, water use and local impacts, while state lawmakers have also questioned whether data centers should continue receiving generous tax incentives
