Cairo City Council has rejected a proposed agreement that would have allowed local police to act as ICE field officers. The 287(g) Memorandum of Agreement faced significant pushback from residents, many of whom packed council chambers ahead of the vote to speak out against it. Their message was heard and the council voted no.
