During an interview on Real Time with Bill Maher, Sarah Longwell, publisher and co-founder of The Bulwark, discussed President Trump’s promise to issue $5,000 checks to every adult U.S. citizen if Republicans win control of both the House and Senate after the midterm elections. Longwell called the promise a lie and argued that the president encouraging voters to act as if he were on the ballot is exactly what Democrats want.
