Veterans criticize VA’s use of AI in mental health services

The VA cut 30,000 jobs in 2025 and imposed staffing caps at every medical center. By January 2026, the average wait time for veterans seeking a new mental health appointment exceeded 35 days. Ed Anderson spoke out against the cuts—and the use of AI—during a press conference Monday, August 24th. Let us know what you think about AI usage in mental health in the comments.
