Representative Gabriel Sanchez (D-42) spoke at a Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC) committee hearing about the data centers being built across Georgia, making the state one of the leaders in total data centers this year. Sanchez says he has major concerns about how data centers could increase power rates, especially after last year’s PSC-approved increases in energy grid capacity to meet data center demand.
