Atlanta police body camera footage shows officers rescuing 4-year-old Zola Cooper and her 11-month-old sister, Norah, after authorities say the girls were abducted by their babysitter, 42-year-old Lakesha Brown. Officers found the sisters alive inside an unventilated trailer as temperatures outside reached about 97 degrees, then took them for medical evaluation before they were reunited with their family. Police say the girls’ mother met Brown through an online moms group and came to trust her over roughly a year before allowing Brown to take the children on August 15. Brown now faces kidnapping and child-cruelty charges, and authorities say she also has an outstanding Alabama warrant connected to a separate 2021 case in which she was accused of abducting a newborn.
